Hello, assorted bunnies.

Most of you probably have no idea who I am, which make sense since you’ve never seen me before. In a brilliant and unexpected move, the fiendish droid leader, General Greivous Elles has added me as a co-author of this blog.

A bit about me: I am a 15 year old socialist leaning liberal bisexual atheist with delusions of grandeur (and perhaps a touch of insanity). I live in Ontario, Canadia (We’re Canadians, that means we live in Canadia). I tend to make strange sounds for no particular reason, and consider ice cubes to be a delectable treat. I’m here to pass some of this strangeness on to you.

I’ve been an atheist for quite some time, I believe since the time I asked my father what the word for “a person who doesn’t believe in god” is. I attended the Ontario system of Catholic schools from kindergarten to grade 8, filling my brain with theology, bits of lint, and occasionally a useful fact or two. Maybe three. Since then I’ve managed to piece together a logic cannon capable of tearing apart even the most formidable of arguments. Unless of course the argument is actually right, but how often do you find one of those?

I’ll leave it at that for today; though I feel like I should say; I’m not very good at rhyming; and finding a rhyme for “rhyming” is rather difficult.

Bunnies.

  4. Hello Thrawn. Looking forward to reading your stuff.

It seems slightly depressing that the total age of the contributors to this blog is still lower than my age… Or maybe I should consider it a good thing?

Agree with Kristjan (I’ve got a cousin named Kristjan). Way to make me feel old.

Damn it, I was a wishy-washy agnostic until I read The God Delusion a year ago, and I was 20 years old at the time, what the hell is wrong with me?

I do wonder what you mean by socialist, though, I admired socialism when I was your age but understanding more about the world has made me more into a free-market, pro-globalisation supporter. I think when we are young we tend to be fairly idealistic, so possibly something you should watch out for.

    Thrawn, as in Mitth’raw’nuruodo?

I live in Ontario, Canada too. Looking forward to your posts!

  8. Ohhh, fresh blood. Welcome to the fold.

    Rhyming things like “rhyming”
    Isn’t reason for any crying
    There’s as many words
    As there are birds
That rhyme with things like “rhyming.”

  9. woo! canada represent!

  10. Thanks for the responses, everyone. I’ll respond using the amazing power of Numbered Points.

    1. It’s true that “Socialist” tends to bring to mind thoughts of Soviet Russia, zombie Stalin, and things like that. I say “socialist” because it’s somewhere in between “liberal” and “communist”. Liberal I am, communist I am not.

I support socialized health care, education, and vital infrastructure (the government ensures that everyone stays healthy, is educated, and has electricity, water, etc.). I support taxes on the extremely rich and welfare for the extremely poor. As long as people have the ability to success and live a comfortable life, I’m happy.

To summarize, I don’t want people living on the streets. The specifics of how I’d go about to this seem like a good idea for a post. Or maybe a book.

    2. My name is indeed taken from the character Thrawn from Timothy Zahn’s Star Wars books.

    3. And, finally: Bunnies.

Yay for Bunnies! For great justice, Thrawn, take off every zig!

Have fun messing with people’s minds besides my own!

That’s not Socialist by any means. I don’t think you can find a Conservative party in Europe that doesn’t agree with that stance.

  13. OMG! Star Wars Bunnies!

I have a confession to make here: in the place where normal people have a portrait of their family on the living room wall, my husband and I have a Star Wars poster. Mom, dad, I’m sorry, but you can never be as cool as they are.
