In Pokemon, they use the word “evolution” when they really mean “metamorphosis”. What happens to these critters is the equivalent of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly.
Just one more why that cartoon screws with childrens brains- besides the fact it teaches them it’s OK to round up animals and have them fight each other, and bet on the results.

Cause religious people take everything as a severe insult to religion, some people in Brazil banned usb´s because of they think the symbol of it is Satan´s trident. Geez people!

Cry a river wow. Who cares it all means the same thing and just bcos its called evolves does not mean kids are going to immediately think of religion.
I myself am quite happy in sticking to my Plush Pokemon where they always stay the same and do not evolve/metamorph they stay the same all the time.

A literal translation of the word used in the Japanese games is indeed “metamorphosis.”
